Hi, Salam, Marhaba, Bonjour, Hola!

Thank you for visiting my page :) I am estatic to be going on the this journey to summit Mount Kilimanjaro and raise funds for the noble organization PCRF; an organization that is non-political, non-profit, non-religious and dedicated to healing the wounds of war, occupation and poverty for children in the Middle East, regardless of their nationality, religion, race or gender. This is a trip that I have been dreaming about since September of 2013 and have been planning since that time too! It started off as an idea for for a leisure trip for me to celebrate my birthday but has transformed to a spiritual jouney, a humanitrian goal and an inspiriation for others. And I am most grateful for the circumstances that has guided me to make this transformation.

This journey has significance in several areas of my life:

• physical fitness (the ability to summit the highest mountain in Africa),
• mental fitness (the ability to convince myself that I can summit the highest mountain in Africa and to achieve my fundraising goal),
• but most importantly, doing good in this world by enabling innocent children to receive medical care that they need and deserve.

Please feel free to make any donation that you can, no matter how big or small, every penny counts! If can't decide on a number, here are some estimates of usual spendings that we make every day...

• $15  Average meal
• $30  More extravagant meal
• $50 to $60 Hairdresser visit or casual shopping
• $100 to $200 Doctor visit

If you are wondering where your money will go, here are examples of current work being done by PCRF:

1. Medical Missions: We organize and run hundreds of volunteer missions from all over the world to Palestine and Lebanon's camps providing children free care and local medical personnel with free training.
2. Treatment Abroad: We arrange medical care all over the world for sick and injured children from the Middle East who cannot be adequately treated in their homeland.
3. Humanitarian Projects: We sponsor humanitarian projects in Palestine and Lebanon to provide relief for poor and needy children, including wheelchairs, summer camps, and a Child Sponsorship Program.

Climb4PCRF: Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro to raise funds for the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund!

Who are we? Why do we do this?
This is a trip organized by volunteers of the PCRF. We love to take on challenges and explore the world. With the exciting story of climbing Kilimanjaro, we want to spread awareness about PCRF’s initiatives, support its work through fundraising and contribute to helping injured and affected children in Palestine and Syria. 

How can I participate?
The trip is open to all who want to participate in this challenge and fundraising campaign. Each climber will have to commit to raising $15,000 before 24th December 2014, the day we start our adventure!  If you cannot make it on the trip but would like to fundraise for the campaign or help a friend reach their goal, you can do that by clicking on "Become a fundraiser".  All funds raised will be used to support the PCRF’s medical missions, treatment abroad programs and humanitarian projects. 

Why Kilimanjaro?
Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world at 5,895 metres or 19,341 feet above sea level. This fact makes Mount Kilimanjaro one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa and part of the 7 summits challenge; the feat of climbing the highest mountain on every continent. Kilimanjaro has five distinct climate zones each occupying a range of approximately 1000m of altitude. This will be an extraordinary journey, it is “in some way like traveling from the equator to the pole, with increasing altitude providing a very distinct range of climate zones, from tropical rainforest to moorland, alpine desert and finally to the polar conditions of the summit.” We were inspired by the PCRF amputee children who participated in the Climb Of Hope last year. We want to start a trend of summiting heights and rough terrains as a reminder of the challenges that our children in Palestine and Syria face every day.
