Take five for trivia
I did manage to confuse a few people with my question as to what do Charles Howard Curran and Punxsutawney Phil have in common. My favorite answer came from Mary Ann that they are both "chucks!" True indeed. However, my preferred answer is that Dr. Curran, the former curator of the American Museum of Natural History, in the way of a true scientist gathered up a band of friends in 1948 and set out for Bear Mountain, NY, where they performed an "exhaustive" study of the woolly bear caterpillar to determine whether its winter prediction powers were legitimate. They may not have reached any real scientific conclusion but they did in fact call themselves The Original Society of the Friends of the Woolly Bear. And that counts for a lot!
So the good doctor and Phil share a penchant for prognostication we might say.
