Special Abbreviated Edition.

My apologies to all! An unexpected hospital visit has interrupted my week. Not to worry; all will be well. But it means we'll be brief today. We just wanted to make sure that you got the word that even now the Lancaster County Community Foundation's special ExtraGive is taking place. This online donation festival will have its own in person fun in the person(s) of Amanda and Marci who'll be at Appalachian Brewing Company's Lititz brewpub. It's at 55 North Water Street inLititz and the Facebook event page gives you directions and the promise of chicken pot pie.

Don't forget - you can give to PPFF any time before midnight tonight. And we appreciate your support very sincerely.

And don't forget to #OptOutside next Friday. We'll be doing the same so I won't be in your Inbox next week either. Enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday - and know that we are very grateful for each of you!

News of Note.

Thanks to the members of our eastern chapters who joined Marci, Beth, and Amanda at French Creek State Park for their retreat. Just like out west, there was good food, great conversations, and wonderful shared ideas.

Philadelphia graphic designer Caleb Heisey (originally from Newport) has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund his "PA Patch Coalition." Caleb's idea is to create a stable of embroidered patches - one for each of our 121 state parks. Sales will benefit PPFF, too. Check out the Kickstarter and see some of the lovely designs.

It is almost time to start thinking about your next wall calendar (what? a new year is that close?) and PPFF is considering undertaking the publication of DCNR's state parks calendar. A little survey has been prepared to gauge support and glean information. Let us know your opinion with completion of this little quickie.

Don't forget that if you're out and about Camp Hill on Sunday afternoon, PPFF will participate in the Candy Cane Walk to promote community businesses and community spirit. The event runs from noon until 4:00 and you can pick up your passport, bandana, hitch cover, note cards, living gift, or Inspired by Nature pottery creation.

In closing.
