Summary

This travel course offers a study tour in Israel presented by Patricia O'Reilly and Scott Lewis, S.J., from July 4 to July 17, 2014.

Description

Israel the cradle of civilization is the birthplace of three of the world's major religions - It is where Joshua brought down Jericho's walls, it is where King Solomon built the First Temple, and it is where Jesus walked on water, cured the sick, was crucified and resurrected. It is where the prophet Mohammad ascended to heaven. This course examines the story of the Christian faith in the place where it all began. Many scholars consider the land of Israel the fifth Gospel. Immersing yourself in this land will bring you closer to the history, archeology, anthropology, culture, people and modern politics that spans over thousands of years. Israel is the Holy Land; a country where you will see the Bible come to life as you take a tour through the Scriptures." You’ll never be the same. Expect a Blessing! "Whoever has not seen Jerusalem in its splendor has never seen a fine city." - Babylonian Talmud (Succah, 51b)
