Description

Vatican II: Fifty Years of Evolution and Revolution in the Catholic Church, presented by Dr. Meg Lavin

Vatican II forced Catholics to think differently about their church, themselves, and how they witness to their faith in the world.  What was Vatican II?  How did it affect church structure?  How did it change the lives of the faithful?

This series will explore the history of Vatican II and how it has shaped church practice over the past fifty years.  It will focus on issues that continue to have an impact on church life and governance, including the inner structure of the church, the relationship of the church to the world, ecumenism and interfaith dialogue, the liturgical life of the church, the role of the laity, and the use of the Bible in the Catholic tradition.

Eight weeks starting Thursday May 2nd, 2013 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Cost $175.00
