CREATING MANDALAS

Instructor: Marguerite Genest

Thursday 6-8pm

July 12

Fee: $30 (members $25)

In recent years, the popularity of adult coloring books has skyrocketed. They provide an outlet for creativity and relaxation for many people. The pleasure of accomplishment during and after this process has been shown to have a positive impact on both physical and mental health. Recent research from Johns Hopkins and other universities has revealed that the meditative aspect of creating and coloring mandalas is anxiety reducing, promoting feelings of well being. Mandalas are everywhere in nature - in flowers, seashells, snowflakes, etc. In this class we will explore the significance of madalas as we create our own. We’ll talk about the various meanings of mandalas throughout the years, and how we learn about ourselves through the colors, symbols, and patterns we choose. The creation of mandalas provide a window to ourselves, but is also lots of fun! This will be the main focus of this class, as we engage in and enjoy an evening of creativity and self-discovery!

*All materials provided by RTA. Grab your friend, husband, sister, teenager or come alone to enjoy a fun, creative evening! Attendees over 21 years BYOB!
