Hello friends! 

I'm writing to invite you to participate in Student Action with Farmworkers' Farmworker Awareness Campaign, a grassroots fundraising drive to support our work for greater respect and justice for farmworkers. SAF is a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring students and farmworkers together to learn about each other’s lives, share resources and skills, improve conditions for farmworkers, and build diverse coalitions working for social change.

I am excited to be a part of this organization but I need your support to make this campaign successful. I have been involved with SAF for the past 2 years as an intern with the Adelante Education Coalition. Both of my parents worked in the fields when I was younger so that I could pursue my education. They selflessly labored countless hours to make enough money to support me and my 4 siblings. And now I get to make sure Latino and migrant students across the state have the same opportunities to pursue their education. My parents showed me what hard work is but I know Latino and migrant students today face many barriers even whilst they continue to work hard. It is up to us to work with them to make lasting changes such as raising the minimum age of children working in the fields so that they may continue with their education. I have had the fortunate experience to work alongside SAF's Levante youth group and they are truly a great group of students. So please donate to help maintain SAF's educational programming for Latino and migrant youth!

My goal is to raise a minimum of $350 to support SAF's work educating the public about farmworkers and their struggles to access educational opportunities. My campaign will end Friday, December 19th.
