Volunteer with Us!
If you are interested in volunteering for SAQA, please complete our Volunteer Interest Form or email volunteer@saqa.com. View all of our Volunteer Openings »
Here are some of our current openings:
Website Assistants
Please contact Website Coordinator, Jennifer Solon
We are currently looking for a couple of volunteers to assist with various website functions, including: updating event calendar, editing website content, assisting users with questions, editing images, special projects, etc. Applicant should have some familiarity with HTML / website editing. Image editing software (Photoshop) a plus.
Exhibition Coordinator
Please contact Exhibition Committee Chair, Gwyned Trefethen
Exhibition Coordinators act as the liaison between SAQA, the artists and the juror. It is an administrative job that requires strong people skills, allows for creativity in communication and needs computer comfort with spreadsheets and mail merge. EC's do not have to be members of the Exhibition Committee, but sometimes are. Since exhibitions are juried blind, EC's may submit to calls for the exhibition they are coordinating.
Booth Volunteers
We are looking for volunteers to help staff the SAQA booth at the following events. This is a great opportunity to meet new people and talk about SAQA (plus you get to sit down for a bit!):
International Quilt Festival - Houston, Texas (Oct 29 - Nov 1, 2015)
Coming to IQF this year? Why don't you volunteer a shift at the SAQA booth! SAQA's new exhibitions Wild Fabrications and Balancing Act will be premiering at IQF. Plus, we will have Auction Quilts. Contact person: Deborah Bright
QuiltCon West 2016 - Pasadena, California (Feb 18-21, 2016)
A great educational opportunity for our members to see what the Modern Quilt Guild is all about, and a way for us to share what we do. We are all united in our passion for fabric and thread, no matter how we design and construct our quilts or fiber art. Contact Jamie Fingal for more details.
