Weekly Spotlight

Each month, a selected SAQA member is invited to curate an online gallery from Juried Artist images. Force of Nature was put together by Guest Curator Franki Kohler.

Who can pass by a peony bud about to burst open in the spring without notice? Or a majestic ginkgo in the park? Or a koi pond at the local museum? The many forms of nature that shift throughout the seasons bring us new reasons to stop, wonder, relax and refresh.

Confluence: Water's Beauty, Use and Misuse

Deborah Weir - "Gyre 11"

This exhibition was conceived by California artists Inga Gorsvans-Buell and Deborah Weir, in response to two issues of great importance to them both: water and art. Viewers will see a wide array of colorful and sophisticated quilts on the topic of water.  The artists examine oceans and rivers, creatures who inhabit the seas, life in coastal regions, man-made piers and bridges, and the pollutants we discard.
