Daily Themes

To the Rescue!: Monday, April 21/28

If a seal, dolphin or porpoise becomes stranded on a NH beach, the Center leads the rescue response. Join us to learn what marine mammals live in our waters, and what to do if you come across one of these animals on the beach. Why is it so important to keep a safe distance? Come find out!

Wild and Wonderful Weather Experiments: Tuesday, April 22/29

Do you like seeing things go POP and wonder why it did so? By making discoveries about wind and water, heat and pressure, and even ELECTRICITY, we can learn a lot about how the weather of the earth works, and how it is tied to the ocean. Join us for a day of fun and exciting experiments!

Creatures of the Coral Reef: Wednesday, April 23/30

Coral reefs are home to an amazing variety of interesting sea life, but they need your help! Find out why these fragile undersea habitats are at risk of disappearing and what you can do to help keep them healthy. We’ll take time to observe our aquarium fish and watch them as they are fed a squid lunch.

Habitat Scavenger Hunt: Thursday, April 24/May 1
We’ll form two teams and go on a park-wide scavenger hunt. Each team will search for items that can only be found in a particular habitat. Whichever team finds more items will be declared the winner, but everyone will take home a prize for the effort. Come explore the park with us!

Spring  Tidepooling: Friday, April 25/May 2
The tide is out and its time to get our feet wet! Come investigate what creatures are stirring among the rocks and seaweeds. Sea stars, urchins, crabs and more are waiting to be discovered. Why are these critters important to the health of the ocean? We’ll discuss the reasons as we get hands-on in the tidepools.
