2017 marks the 5th year of Sacred Fire Foundation’s
Become a Protector of the Sacred.
Since 2012 Protecting the Sacred has granted $350,000 to 78 projects on 5 continents. We have supported the water protectors of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe confronting the Dakota Access Pipeline, the maintenance of ceremonial sites in Huichol communities, and the Earth stewardship work of the Maori Peoples of New Zealand, among many other inspiring initiatives.
Please help us continue to support incredible communities like these for the next 5 years and beyond!
The uniqueness of the Protecting the Sacred granting program means that it reaches organizations and groups that would not otherwise receive support.
“I have met many Indigenous people who told me how excited and hopeful they are to find a foundation that supports the continuance of their traditions, because many other foundations don't.”
At a time when the very future of humanity is threatened, indigenous wisdom offers the instruction, inspiration and guidance we all need to navigate the times ahead. Our grantee partners show how this wisdom can transform our society for the well-being of all.
