Hey everyone!!! Thank you so much for checking out this page! I am beyond thrilled, excited, and overjoyed (I mean there isn't really a word to describe it) that the Lord has called me to go and love in Uganda, Africa, this summer for nine whole weeks! I will be interning with an organization called Sozo Children. Sozo is a Greek word meaning "to save; to nurture; to rescue; both physically and spiritually." Their vision is to solely glorify God while saving children in need, building communities, and connecting individuals to experience His love. This organization actively seeks to accomplish the calling of serving and going and loving- and I can't wait to be apart of it.
I heard about Sozo Children a few years back from a friend that also interned and went to Uganda. However, it did not impact me in such a way until last year. I began to see so many posts about it from friends and began to fall in love with the beautiful people I am sure are to be found in Uganda (refer to my picture of me and the sweet, sweet face of Natasha!!!). I ran in Run for a Reason 5K to support Sozo and get more information about their vision and purpose. After that my heart was completely set, but my path was not. I tried to spend the past year of praying and considering each day as an opportunity to dive into the daily mission field of inviting the glorious into the mundane and watching Him transform busy schedules into opportunities. There was failure and selfish moments, but through it all His grace and mercy covered and His will prevailed. So finally after all this time God beckoned my heart to go to the place it has been so longing for and now I officially invite YOU to join me on this journey!
I am asking that you first join me in praying for the intern team as we prepare to go. Pray for His guidance and His provision. Pray that we are sensitive to hear His voice above the noise. Pray for the hearts that we will be meeting over in Uganda and the hearts of the intern team. Pray for whatever the Lord places on your heart. All prayers are so appreciated and I thank you in advance!!
