“But even before I was born, God chose me and called me by his marvelous grace.” Galatians 1:15

By His marvelous grace. Wow, is our God awesome or what?! I am forever blown away by His unending grace, His relentless love, and His incredibly unique ability to call His children exactly where He plans for us to be. Nearing graduation, I thought I had my future mapped out; I thought it was concrete. The Lord, however, showed me that He had different plans. And whoa, are they bright.

This past year, He introduced me to a family like no other, a community full of love and hope and unbridled joy. He planted in me a dream and a passion that has changed how I look at my future. He laid the children of Sozo on my heart in a way that I can’t explain. And now, months later, with Christ-like faithfulness, He’s provided me with the incredible opportunity of serving them for over two months this summer. (Wow, how He provides!)

As a Sozo intern, I’ll be spending nine weeks (!!!) in Kampala, Uganda loving and serving the children of Sozo, growing in relationship with those in the surrounding villages, assisting in the areas of need, and sharing the Gospel with those that I encounter. And I absolutely cannot wait. While there are definitely fears that surface when considering my time away, I am beyond excited to walk out the path that God has set before me.  And though I’m one who loves to be one step ahead, I’m learning that His plan is not about knowing where you’re headed or what’s going to happen along the way, but about taking the first step and allowing Him to lead you through the rest of the journey.

So, as I prepare for this life-altering adventure with Christ, I offer it all up to Him—my pride, my comfort, my selfishness—that I may become more of Him and less of myself, that I may use what He’s provided me with to be His hands and feet, and that I may walk out His plan with love and devotion… For what He has prepared is not only greater than anything that I could have imagined, but infinitely more satisfying, as well.

I ask that you consider joining me and my team as we prepare for this journey in Christ, that you’ll partner with us in prayer as we ready our hearts for all that God has planned for us; and above all else, that you’ll pray for those that we encounter, that they may be made aware of God’s undeniable love for them, and that they may receive this love and all that it has to offer.
