The Madera Big Sitters had a great morning at the Santa Rita Lodge in Madera Canyon.  It was a little chilly to start at 39 degrees but as the sun came up it turned into a lovely cool day.  Lucy, Luke, Luke's kids and Hollie all enjoyed great bird watching and identifed 21 species of birds over the 4 hour big sit time period.   Magnificent, Broad-billed, and Black-chinned hummingbirds were in abundance as well as Black-headed Grosbeaks and Mexican Jays.   The turkeys are always entertaining to watch and one big Tom decided to stop traffic in the road by struting his stuff and walking back and forth in the road to keep anyone from passing by.  Overall everyone had fun and enjoyed a little shopping in the lodge giftshop afterwards.  This might become an annual event!
