Friends and Family:
It's that time again; time to start fundraising for the Ulman Cancer Fund's 2015 Key to Keys Adventure.
During the 2014 Key to Keys ride, I pedaled more than 480 miles en route from Baltimore to Key West. Stronger than last year, I am hoping to break 600 miles this year during the 1500 total miles from Baltimore, MD to Key West, FL.
Last year's ride changed my life. I was able to hear stories of love, loss and triumph from strangers who turned into friends who turned into family. I helped others on their road to acceptance and hoped that I helped them find just a fraction of the peace that they were able to help me find. It was incredible to see the 24 of us go from acquaintences to a bonded group in just 8 days.
This year proves to be just as emotional, fun and beneficial for all involved. I hope you will consider a donation - in someone's honor or memory.
This year - just like last year - I ride in memory of Rachel Minkove, a high school classmate from Beth Tfiloh who lost her fight at the age of 28; and for my step-brother Joel Gellar, who passed away when he was just 21 years old 16 years ago and has been in my thoughts each and every day since. I also ride in HONOR of my childhood best friend Staci Zemlak-Kenter, who gets to finish her chemo treatments early and has stomped the crap out of her tumor.
I also want to mention two of my close friends, Jeff and Jess Salazar and their son, Austin. Austin is a survivor and this family is amongst the most kind-hearted and gracious people I know. Their son continues to improve each week and I look forward to celebrating many more occasions with them. Love you guys.

UCF Experiences Key to Keys is a journey that brings together a diverse group of individuals to build a community of support for those affected by cancer. Using cycling as a platform, Key to Keys participants come together throughout the journey to share their individual cancer connections and give out as much support to others as they are receiving.
