I had the honor and joy of being a part of 4K for Cancer's Team San Diego 2015 last summer and it changed my life for the better. It allowed me to better myself while raising awareness for young adults with cancer and providing them with free programs and patient support through the Ulman Cancer Fund. This summer, I will be cycle touring Europe in memory of my friend Liz who passed away our sophomore year of college from cancer and for my dad who is currently ill with cancer. I want to be able to contribute to a cause so near and dear to my heart and being a part of the UCF community before has given me so much. I would love to continue giving back and raising awareness for young adults with cancer.
I also want to extend my sincerest gratitude for all of the love and support I have received from all of you the past 2 years. My family, friends, and strangers that I've met along the way who have become friends have restored my faith in humanity and this world. I learned that people are good. People care. And we live in a beautiful world and it is important not to forget that.
Please help me to make a difference in the lives of countless young adults battling cancer and to share stories of the fighters I've met along the way. Together, we can perpetuate love!
The Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults changes lives by creating a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, impacted by cancer. With your support, the Ulman Cancer Fund is able to provide free support services and resources for the young adult cancer community including:
Cancer to 5K - a 12-week training program designed to introduce or reintroduce cancer survivors to physical activity.
Patient Navigation - a free program (onsite at cancer centers and remotely through our office) that ensures no young adult ever faces cancer alone. We provide one-on-one support & resources to young adults and their families to help them manage the cancer expereience and long-term cancer survival.
Scholarships - a financial assistance program to help young adults continue their education after being affected by cancer through their own diagnosis or the diagnosis of a loved one.
